Tommy Goodale joined the Georgia Gwinnett College baseball coaching staff for the 2021 season working with player development.
He came to Lawrenceville, Georgia after spending the 2021 year as a hitting coach at Out Front Hitting. Goodale also served the 2020-21 years as the head post grad coach at Combine Academy. That came after spending the 2017 and 2018 seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater St. Ambrose (Iowa). He helped the 2017 squad reach the NAIA Opening Round after winning the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament title.
During his playing career Goodale served as a team captain at St. Ambrose during his senior season. He began his college career at Holy Cross College (Indiana) after a successful high school career at Indianaola High School (Iowa). Goodale was a team captain as a senior in high school.
Goodale served as an intern at the 2019 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. He spent the summer of 2015 on the road with Team MaxBat and conducted showcases in 35 states in over a five weeks span.
Goodale earned a bachelors degree in business management and marketing with an emphasis in leadership from St. Ambrose. He also received a masters in sport management from the University of Southern Mississippi.
