Brett Lindsey

Brett Lindsey joined the Georgia Gwinnett College baseball coaching staff as the director of player development initiatives for the 2024 season.

Lindsey comes to GGC after serving as the Associate Head Coach at Indiana University Southeast from 2021-23. He helped propel the Grenadiers to new program heights.

Lindsey was the program's third base coach and while also having infield and hitting coach responsibilities.

The Grenadiers achieved a historic milestone by capturing their first Avista NAIA World Series appearance, winning the Kingsport (Tennessee) Bracket of the NAIA Opening Round and defeating top-ranked Tennessee Wesleyan University. The program won back-to-back conference tournament championships in 2021 and 2022. Indiana Southeast finished as the River States Conference tournament runner-up during the 2023 season.

Lindsey helped guide the program to its highest national ranking (No. 5) and set a record for the most wins in a single season (50). The team won 123 games in his three seasons in the dugout.

Lindsey mentored seven NAIA All-Americans, a Conference Player of the Year in 2022, 15 first all-conference team players, seven second-team all-conference performers, and 14 conference Gold Glove winners.

Before his stint in Indiana Southeast he was the associate head coach at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The team finished in first place in the conference, including a significant series win over nationally ranked Miami Dade. While recruiting at Broward he signed two pitchers who would later be recognized nationally among Junior College's top 30 pitchers.

In 2019, Lindsey assumed the role of director of player development at the University of South Alabama, where he contributed to the team's success by assisting coaches in various capacities, with a particular focus on hitting, infield, and coaching first base.

Lindsey's coaching journey began in 2018 as a graduate assistant at Alabama A&M University, where he made an immediate impact by overseeing hitting, infield, and third base coaching duties. Under his guidance, the team's batting average witnessed a significant boost in his very first year, rising from .234 to .266.

Beyond his collegiate coaching roles, Lindsey also has experience coaching as a field manager in various summer leagues. Notably, he served as the field manager for the Minnesota MudPuppies in the Northwoods League in 2022 and the Hoptown Hoppers in the Ohio Valley League in 2021. In the summers of 2018 and 2019, he held the role of associate head coach for the Bismarck Larks in the Northwoods League.

Over the years, he has coached nine players who were selected in the MLB draft, with one player making his MLB debut in 2023 with the Miami Marlins. Additionally, three players signed free agent deals with affiliate teams, while six others secured Independent professional contracts.
