Kailyn Berry tossed a four-hit shutout as the Georgia Gwinnett College softball team split a doubleheader at Keiser University, winning the opener 1-0 before dropping Thursday's finale 9-4 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The games marked the Grizzlies' first road contests of the 2026 season.
GGC struck early in the opener behind an RBI single from senior
Savannah Jenkins in the first inning.
Berry improved to 3-0 inside the circle for this season. She managed to pitch out of a jam in the fifth inning as Keiser (12-2) had runners at second and third bases with one out. Freshman shortstop
Chloe Rockhold threw out a runner at home plate on a fielder's choice. Berry then got another ground out to keep the team ahead by the single run.

A few innings later, Keiser threatened with the potential game-winning run in scoring position. However, Berry induced an infield pop up to senior second baseman
Sara Roussel and then got a fly out to right field to secure the 1-0 victory.
In the nightcap, the visitors struck once again in the top of the first inning as freshman
Brooke Rockhold executed a sacrifice bunt to score sophomore
Casey Beaver.
Keiser would quickly respond with a six-run second inning. The hosts plated a pair of runs on a pair of plays with two outs in the inning.
GGC attempted a comeback as
Chloe Rockhold legged out an RBI double in the fourth inning and a run-scoring single by Jenkins during the fifth inning trimmed the deficit to 6-3.
Keiser answered with a single run in the bottom half of the fifth inning and added two insurance runs during the sixth inning.

Coach's Corner
"This was another tale of two teams (between GGC's first and second games). I'm very happy for Kailyn and her strong performance stood up a one-run lead for seven innings. We had some offensive sparks in the second game, but we just didn't hold it down in the (pitching) circle well enough to complete the sweep," said Head Coach
Kat Ihlenburg.

Turning Point
The Grizzlies chipped away at the deficit in the second game following Keiser's six-run second inning. A single run in the fourth and fifth innings brought the visitors within 6-3. However, the Seahawks answered with a single run in the bottom half of the fifth inning. They then added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning after GGC put a run on the scoreboard.
