The No. 2-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College softball team saw its 19-game winning streak end with a 4-2 setback to No. 7 seed Eastern Oregon University on Friday night in a second-round game of the NAIA World Series in Columbus, Georgia.
The Grizzlies (46-9) are now scheduled to play No. 5 seed Central Methodist University (Missouri) in an elimination-round game on Saturday, May 24, beginning at 1 p.m.
Eastern Oregon (37-9) scored four runs across the middle innings to rally from an early 1-0 deficit. Kelly Monaghan's triple to center field with the bases loaded in the top of the fourth inning gave the Mountaineers their first lead of the game, at 3-1.
Emily Barry added a run-scoring double one inning later.
GGC junior
Savannah Jenkins had put the Grizzlies (46-9) on the scoreboard with an RBI ground out to shortstop scoring sophomore
Morgan McQuagge to give the team a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Jenkins would later collect another run-scoring ground out during the sixth inning.

Senior
Makenna Talcott paced the Grizzlies' five-hit offensive attack with a pair of singles to go 2-for-3 at the plate.
Eastern Oregon pitcher Kylie Parsons struck out seven batters to improve her record to 22-0 for the season.
