Jarvis Tosses Fifth Perfect Game as Softball Splits Top 25 Battle

Reigning national NAIA Softball Pitcher of the Week Annalise Jarvis tossed her fifth career perfect game in leading the No. 6-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College softball team to a doubleheader split at No. 22 University of Mobile on Wednesday afternoon in Mobile, Alabama.

Jarvis, the 2023 NAIA National Pitcher of the Year and two-time first All-American team selection, struck out 14 batters in the 2-0 victory during the nightcap.

GGC (15-3) suffered a 2-1 setback in the opener, stranding the potential game-tying run at third base after a two-out RBI triple from sophomore Sophie Sisk in the seventh inning. Mobile starting pitcher Avery Harrell scattered three hits in the complete-game effort.

Jarvis has registered a perfect game each of her three seasons in the circle for the Grizzlies, achieving the feat three times during her banner 2023 campaign. The Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, native has registered two no-hitters so far this spring and seven during her standout career.

Freshman Samantha Fadely provided the scoring in the nightcap with a two-run double to right-center field in the fifth inning. That extra-base hit brought home junior Enna Lackey and sophomore Morgan McQuagge for a 2-0 advantage.

Jarvis pitchingJarvis struck out all three Mobile batters in the second and fourth innings and needed only 81 pitches to toss her fifth shutout of the 2025 season.

In the opener, Mobile (11-4) pushed across a run in each of the first and second innings to build a 2-0 lead that withstood the late GGC rally.

Coach's Corner
"Annalise performed so well. You felt that one run was going to be enough (as a game-winning margin), so when Samantha (Fadely) got the double to score two runs, it was definitely a bonus.  We came up a little short (in the first game) against a good pitcher who mixed up her speeds well. We were just 1-percent better in the second game to get a good 2-0 road win," said Head Coach Kat Ihlenburg.

Turning Point
After dropping Wednesday's opener in a NAIA Top 25 showdown, the Grizzlies turned to their ace – with senior Annalise Jarvis once again delivering inside the pitching circle. The right hander struck out seven of the first nine batters she faced and kept all three of Mobile's batters off the bases in the bottom of the fourth inning. Then, Jarvis' battery mate, freshman Samantha Fadely, delivered a key two-run double in the fifth inning to give GGC a 2-0 lead.
