Senior
Scott Seeker hit for the cycle and homered in each contest as the Georgia Gwinnett College baseball team swept a doubleheader from the University of Tennessee Southern by 13-7 and 32-2 scores on Saturday afternoon at the Grizzly Baseball Complex.
Seeker had six hits in seven plate appearances, accounted for eight RBI and scored six runs during the nightcap. Among his hits in the game were three doubles, a triple and a single, while also connecting on a two-run home run.
The senior became the fourth Grizzly to hit for a cycle in program history and matched single-game school records for hits (6), runs scored (6), RBI (8), at-bats (7), and doubles (3).
"This has been the type of production we've been looking for from Scott. Hopefully, he's starting to hit his stride as we approach the back half of the season. He's confident at the plate right now," said Head Coach
Jeremy Sheetinger.
GGC's 32 runs in the series finale were a season high.
The hosts plated six runs in the opening frame of the second game before scoring 12 times in the second inning. Another six-run frame was added to the scoreboard in the third inning as GGC built a 24-0 lead.
Senior
Sam Seeker and older brother Scott each hit homers during the third inning. They combined to drive in 13 runs in the victory.
Junior
Joe Mrowiec went 3-for-4, scored three runs and had three RBI. Classmate
Alex Harrell scored five times and tallied two hits. Senior
Paul Winland Jr. went 2-for-2 with three RBI in the contest.

In the first contest, GGC scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 6-4 lead and then, with the score 7-6, the team pushed across six runs in the eighth inning for a 13-6 advantage. Senior
Jackson Cobb connected on a grand slam in that decisive late inning.
Junior
Grant Pohlman went 3-for-3 at the plate, while senior
Braxton Meguiar had three hits and scored twice in the victory. Senior
Jon Ponder and Cobb also each recorded two hits for the Grizzlies.
Senior reliever
Wyatt Dodgens struck out seven batters across five strong innings to pick up his third win out of the bullpen. Classmate
Tyler E. Martin added three strikeouts in 1.1 innings to pick up his second save of the season.

In the opener, Tennessee Southern got within a run at 7-6 in the top of the eighth inning. However, one swing of the bat flipped the momentum back in Grizzlies' favor as senior
Jackson Cobb connected on a grand slam to stretch the team's lead to 11-6. The team added two more runs as part of a six-run frame.
