Peyton Hearvey scored a school-record 32 points as the Georgia Gwinnett College women's basketball team scored a 77-67 road victory against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Georgia) on Wednesday evening in Tifton, Georgia.
The Grizzlies (7-5) snapped a three-game losing streak.
GGC made eight of its 13 field goals (61.5 percent) to score 27 points in the third quarter to build upon its 31-27 halftime advantage. The visitors had three 3-point field goals and made eight of their 11 free throws during the pivotal 10-minute stanza.
A 3-pointer by Hearvey gave GGC a 42-37 lead just under six minutes remaining in the third quarter. Later, junior
Maddie Presha hit a shot from behind the 3-point arc that was followed by a three-point play from junior
Nylaa Fuller to once again put the team ahead by five points, at 49-44, with 3:33 remaining in the period. Sophomore
Jamya Griffin made a layup to close out the quarter and gave the Grizzlies a 58-50 lead.
Another 3-pointer by Hearvey gave GGC a 70-57 advantage with 4:50 left in the game. She made eight 3-pointers and recorded her first career double-double performance with an additional 10 rebounds to her 32 points in Wednesday's triumph.

The Grizzlies scored the first seven points of the contest and led 19-6 after the first quarter.
Abraham Baldwin (3-7) opened the second quarter on a 10-0 run and later got within a point, at 28-27, with 1:48 remaining in the first half following a jump shot from Shakiria Chaney.
The Grizzlies made 48 percent of their shots and 42.3 percent from behind the 3-point arc. Freshman
Christen Collins and Griffin each chipped in 12 points, while Fuller scored nine points.

"We did a better job of taking care of the basketball in the second half, with just four turnovers. We got phenomenal contributions from Peyton, Maddie, Jamya, and Christen. Nylaa did things late in the third quarter that are not seen in the stats sheet. It was an unbelievable effort by the players and a good team win," said Head Coach

Turning Point
A strong third quarter by the visiting Grizzlies created separation on the scoreboard. After leading 31-27 at halftime, GGC scored 27 points during the pivotal 10-minute period to take a 58-50 advantage.
