The Georgia Gwinnett College women's basketball team scored more than 20 points in each quarter to tally a season-high 93 points in Saturday evening's 93-53 home triumph against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Georgia) in the Convocation Center.
The Grizzlies (6-2) raced out to a 45-23 halftime advantage behind 11 made 3-point field goals and shooting nearly 40 percent from the floor for all their shots.
GGC made 21 3-pointers in the triumph. The team closed out the game strong by making 61.1 percent (11-of-18) of its field goal attempts during the fourth quarter.
Freshman
Christen Collins paced a balanced offensive attack that featured four double-figure scorers by having 23 points, with her having seven made 3-pointers. Junior
Peyton Hearvey followed with 16 points and classmate
Nevaeh Mageo scored 15 points off the bench. Sophomore
Jamya Griffin added 13 points in the home win.
"Nevaeh is a shot maker. She was due to have a really good game and her teammates did a really good job of finding her on the court," said Head Coach
Tory Wooley.

The Grizzlies opened the second quarter with three straight 3-point field goals, with one each coming from Hearvey, Griffin and Mageo. A second triple from beyond the arc from Mageo gave the hosts a 39-16 lead with 4:29 left in the first half.
GGC has answered its only two losses with victories coming by an average of 30 points per game.
"We do a really good job of having a next-play mentality. We knew that we didn't play our best at Johnson on Wednesday (73-57 road loss), so we were determined to redeem ourselves this evening," stated Wooley.
Coach's Corner
"We put forth 40 good minutes. The players have been putting in a lot of work in practice and that hard work has been showing up in the games. We shot the ball really well and hit 21 3-pointers. It was just a matter of time before our shots started to fall. This team is special. We're young and we're hungry, and our offense is slowly starting to kick into rhythm," said Head Coach
Tory Wooley.
