The top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis team swept No. 8 William Woods University (Missouri) 4-0 in Friday morning's quarterfinal round of the 2025 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's NAIA Indoor National Championship in Overland Park, Kansas.
The Grizzlies will face No. 4-seed Lindsey Wilson College (Kentucky) in a semifinal match on Saturday, February 1, beginning at 9 a.m. Lindsey Wilson defeated No. 5-seed Southeastern University (Florida) 4-3 on Friday.
GGC (3-0), the defending tournament champions, grabbed early momentum in the match behind a pair of 6-1 doubles triumphs on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts.

Justine Lespes teamed with freshman
Cherysh Henry for a victory at No. 3 doubles. Then, junior
Alexandra Melnikova and freshman
Elizabet Verizova clinched the point with the win in the No. 2 doubles match.
The strong play carried over into the Grizzlies' singles action by winning the opening set on all six courts.
Freshman
MaryLove Edwards improved to 3-0 on the season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Sophia Hausner on the No. 5 court.

GGC's lead grew to 3-0 over the No. 18-ranked Owls after freshman
Diana Ilie was victorious by a 6-1, 6-0 score at No. 4 singles against Samya Sikand.

Isid Hernandez delivered the match-clinching point on the No. 6 court with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph against Chloe Hecker.
Georgia Gwinnett College has won all three of its spring matches by shutout scores.
