The top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis team picked up its second straight sweep, with a 5-0 victory Thursday afternoon against No. 9 seed Loyola University (Louisiana) sending the Grizzlies to the semifinal round of the 2024 NAIA National Championship at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama.
The Grizzlies (16-0) registered a pair of strong doubles victories on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts to take a 1-0 lead in the match. The NAIA's top-ranked pairing of seniors
Stephanie Fernandez and
Iryna Lysykh were victorious by a 6-3 score on the No. 1 court.

Versace Gatti clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles.
GGC maintained the positive momentum in singles action, winning the opening set on all six courts. Carney doubled the team's lead with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles.

Gatti put the Grizzlies on the brink of the semifinals behind a 6-2, 6-3 win over Avrora Volkova on the No. 4 court. Junior
Justine Lespes and Lysykh finished their top two singles matches at the same time to round out the winners.
Lespes, the NAIA's top-ranked singles player, defeated Lucy Carpenter 6-4, 6-2 while Lysykh won by identical 6-4 set scores against Micaela Ponce on the No. 2 court.
Georgia Gwinnett College has won seven straight NAIA national titles and has a 37-1 all-time postseason record.
