Big Inning Paves Way for Softball to Enter Postseason

The No. 10-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College softball team scored its most runs in an inning since an early February game to defeat Lindsey Wilson College (Kentucky) 9-0 in five innings Saturday afternoon to close out the regular season in Columbia, Kentucky.

The Blue Raiders and GGC split the doubleheader as the hosts won the opener 3-1 to capture two of the three games across the weekend series.

Junior Lindzie Owen brought home a pair of runs with a single to give GGC an early 4-0 lead in the second game. Junior Haley Robinson followed with a three-run home run to cap the seven-run second inning.

Freshman Morgan McQuagge successfully stole home to open the scoring. Sophomore Enna Lackey doubled GGC's lead with a run-scoring single.

GGC (26-15) added two more runs in the fourth inning, with Robinson and McQuagge collecting RBI singles.
