Helping lead the No. 2-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College baseball team to a come-from-behind victory has garnered left-handed reliever
Jeremiah Locklear the Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week award.
Locklear struck out 11 of the 13 batters he faced in a scoreless 3.2-inning bullpen performance in the Grizzlies' 15-9 come-from-behind victory last Friday against Saint Xavier University (Illinois).
The Pembroke, North Carolina, native entered the contest with GGC trailing 9-6 in the fifth inning against the 2023 NAIA Opening Round Lawrenceville Bracket participant.
Locklear becomes the third Georgia Gwinnett College pitcher to receive the CAC weekly award and fourth different player on the team honored this season. The left hander was also one of three Grizzlies to record 11 or more strikeouts in a game during last weekend's series sweep.
GGC (14-1) takes a seven-game winning streak into a game against University of St. Francis (Illinois) on Friday, March 2, starting at 2 p.m., at the Grizzly Baseball Complex. The team will later face University of Northwestern Ohio that day.
