Senior
Aurora Miglio scored her team-leading eighth goal of the 2024 season during the 87th minute to lead the No. 18-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team to a 1-0 triumph at Bethel University (Tennessee) on Sunday afternoon in McKenzie, Tennessee.
The road triumph snapped the Grizzlies' three-match losing skid, dating back to a 3-0 neutral-site victory against Brescia University (Kentucky) on September 22. The team (8-5-1) is currently in the middle of a six-match road swing. Six of its eight victories this season have come in away matches.
Junior
Natalie Maguire created the match's lone scoring opportunity with a crafty pass to Miglio.
GGC registered five of its six shot attempts during the second half. The final shot in that stanza came off Miglio's foot.

Junior goalkeeper
Ayano Kurosawa made five saves to pick up her third shutout of the season.
Bethel (7-4-0, receiving votes in the NAIA poll) held a slight 9-6 shot advantage during Sunday's match. GGC had all five of its corner kicks occur during the first half.
Coach's Corner
"I'm happy with this team's gutsiness in finding a way to get the goal late in the game. Also, the shutout was a big deal. This was a game where you just had to get the result, even if it wasn't the most beautiful soccer we've played," said Head Coach
Dr. Mike Giuliano.
Turning Point
The Grizzlies applied pressure throughout the second half, with five of their six shots coming after halftime. The team's final shot of the match eventually found the back of the net in the 87th minute as senior
Aurora Miglio scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season. The score came after Miglio received a pass from junior
Natalie Maguire.
