The No. 12-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer team registered its first shutout of the season, defeating Webber International University (Florida) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in Babson Park, Florida, to close out the two-match weekend Florida trip.
The Grizzlies (3-1-2) scored twice within a 20-second span during the first half.
In the 29th minute, sophomore
Nadav Weizmann redirected a shot by senior
Marco Panaccione as Webber International frantically tried to clear away a corner kick to put the visitors on the scoreboard.
It didn't take long for the Grizzlies to convert a turnover into a second goal – 20 seconds. Senior
Emanuele Sordi flicked a left crossing pass from classmate
Diego Milessi into the back of the net. Sordi leads the team with five goals, coming in four of the six matches played this season.

GGC held Webber International (1-2-1) to just five shots during the 90 minutes of action. Junior goalkeeper
Sebastian Farias collected two saves in the second half to secure his second career shutout.
Meanwhile, nine of the Grizzlies' 14 shots were on the opposing goal and they recorded six corner kicks. Sordi paced the offensive attack with four shots while senior
Odin Solheim and Weizmann each tallied two shots in the victory.
GGC went 1-0-1 during the Florida trip.
"We did a better job of controlling the ball. Overall, I am really happy with how we played during the trip. Everybody stayed locked in to get the shutout. It was a collective effort," said Head Coach
Steve DeCou.
