Two goals in the opening eight minutes paved the way for No. 17-ranked SCAD Savannah (Georgia) to defeat the Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team 3-0 to conclude action at the SCAD Coca-Cola Classic on Monday afternoon.
The setback marked the first loss for the Grizzlies (2-1-1) this fall.
Berglind Baldursdottir scored twice to lead the Bees (4-0-0), opening the scoring in the fourth minute and then adding a goal in the 85th minute.
In between, Abigail Siddall found the back of the net in the eighth minute after receiving the ball from Sydney Chura and Sam Wong.
The Grizzlies, who received votes in the NAIA Top 25 preseason poll, registered 12 of their 15 shots in the second half. Sophomore
Grace Clark struck the crossbar with a shot in the 80th minute. Nine GGC shots were on goal, led by sophomore
Kendra Davis with three shots.

Matilda Johansson made nine saves while playing all 90 minutes in the match.
GGC went 0-1-1 at the SCAD Coca-Cola Classic, earning a scoreless draw against No. 3 Keiser University (Florida) last Saturday.
