Georgia Gwinnett College Head Baseball Coach
Jeremy Sheetinger is continuing his involvement with the USA Baseball Task Force by once again serving on the development and evaluation staff for the 2023 Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) League.
Sheetinger is among the nation's top college and amateur coaches along with many former Major League Baseball players involved in the PDP program. His involvement includes scouting players during the 17-and-under East Championship from Tuesday through Friday, June 12-16, at Cary, North Carolina.

"This is as close to a 'Big League call-up' as I will ever come. To serve USA Baseball in any capacity on the field is the utmost honor and responsibility," said Sheetinger, who has guided the GGC program for the past four seasons. "The PDP League is such an important event towards finalizing the 18U National Team, and the opportunity to work with our nation's best players, plus an extremely knowledgeable staff, makes this an amazing moment in my career."
The PDP League is a joint initiative of Major League Baseball and USA Baseball. The league will compete June 24-July 3. The 18U National Team is scheduled to represent America in the Baseball World Cup in Taiwan, August 31-September 10.
Sheetinger has a 170-36 record at GGC and a 256-79 career record in seven seasons as a collegiate head coach. He led the Grizzlies to the 2021 NAIA national championship and three World Series appearances.
USA 18U National Team Manager Michael Cuddyer, a 15-year major league veteran, stated, "(PDPL) provides the invitees access to extremely talented coaches and teachers of the game. I am extremely excited that Sheetinger will join us as one of those coaches. His passion, knowledge and track record will provide these participants with unparalleled insight to further develop in their baseball careers."

Butch Chaffin, 18U National Team assistant coach and a 17-year USA Baseball veteran, added, "PDP is when the best of the best 17 and 18-year old players gather to show off what they can do. Because they are the best, the 18U staff and USA Baseball need the best coaches that have the eye for talent and the ability to build a relationship in a short time. There are few better than Sheetinger. He is the first name I gave the committee as he has a gift for making players understand their 'why' and the meaning of playing for their country. We are playing for gold so we can't mess around or take this lightly."
GGC posted a 50-8 record during a successful 2023 campaign, winning the Continental Athletic Conference tournament and NAIA Opening Round titles, and advanced to the Avista NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho.
