Baseball Hosting 39 Games, Playing at Cajun Collision During 2024 Season

The Grizzlies are scheduled to open the 2024 season against Rust (Mississippi) and Midway (Kentucky) on February 2
The No. 2-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College baseball team is preparing for a challenging 2024 schedule filled with several Top 25-ranked opponents, traveling to Louisiana's Cajun Collision, having 39 home games, and hosting the Continental Athletic Conference championship tournament.

Eleven of the Grizzlies' scheduled opponents qualified for the 2023 NAIA Opening Round and six teams were featured in the preseason NAIA Top 25 poll, with three top-10 matchups. Four additional teams on the schedule received votes in the preseason poll.

2024 Schedule

Smith emotionGeorgia Gwinnett College, led by Head Coach Jeremy Sheetinger, is coming off a 2023 season in which the team posted a 50-8 record and qualified for the Avista NAIA World Series for the fifth straight season.

The 2024 season begins February 2-3 with contests at the Grizzly Baseball Complex against Rust College (Mississippi) and Midway University (Kentucky). Midway competed in last season's NAIA Opening Round's Lawrenceville Bracket.

GGC will be among several Top 25 teams competing in the Cajun Collision on February 9-11 in Sterlington, Louisiana. The first day will have the team playing No. 25 Freed-Hardeman University (Tennessee) and No. 22 Central Methodist University (Missouri). Then, single games against No. 10 Missouri Baptist University and No. 5 LSU Shreveport follow the next two days.

A 17-game home stand opens with a doubleheader against No. 20 Point Park University (Pennsylvania) on February 16. The team hosts Saint Xavier University (Illinois), another 2023 Lawrenceville Bracket participant, in a four-game series on February 23-25.

Wilbanks runningMarch is filled with scheduled home games against University of St. Francis (Illinois) and the University of Northwestern Ohio from March 2-6. CAC opponent Fisher College (Massachusetts) and Indiana Tech will be coming to Lawrenceville on March 8-10.

Also, Talladega College (Alabama) and Loyola University (Louisiana) are coming March 15-17; Middle Georgia State University, March 19; Brewton-Parker College (Georgia), March 22; No. 6 Tennessee Wesleyan University, March 26; Wilberforce University (Ohio), March 29-30.

A midweek home game on April 2 against Bryan College (Tennessee) opens the final month of the regular season. The team also is scheduled to host Johnson University (Tennessee), April 9, before the CAC Showdown has three games against league schools on April 19-20.

In between all that home action, GGC will travel to Tennessee Wesleyan for a three-game series on April 12-13.

The regular season concludes with a three-game neutral site trip against Fisher on April 26-27 and a midweek contest against Carolina University (North Carolina) on April 30.
