Tough Challenge

Top-ranked Keiser University (Florida) scored four first-half goals to give No. 23 Georgia Gwinnett College its first loss of the season with a 4-0 setback in NAIA women's soccer action Thursday evening on a neutral pitch in Foley, Alabama.

The Seahawks (8-0-0) added goals on the scoreboard three times in the first 20 minutes, led by Siera Uko's tally in the second minute. She later assisted on Kyoka Koshijima's goal for the third tally of the match.

Keiser took a 2-0 lead in the 12th minute on a goal from Maja Lundman.

The two-time NAIA national champions (2020 and 2019) capped the scoring with an unassisted goal by Ina Timmermann in the 38th minute.

GGC sophomore Damaris Gaines paced the Grizzlies' offense with two shots. Two of the team's four shots were on goal.

Waldt actionJunior goalkeeper Matilda Waldt stopped both shots on goal by the Seahawks during a scoreless half.

Georgia Gwinnett College (2-1-5) is scheduled to conclude its trip to Foley, Alabama, by playing No. 7 University of Tennessee Southern on Saturday, September 17, at 2:30 p.m.

Keiser set the tone early by scoring twice in the first 12 minutes of the contest. Seira Uko found the back of the net in the second minute and later provided an assist on the team's third goal of the first half.
