The NAIA's No. 1-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College men's tennis team picked up a decisive 7-0 victory against NCAA Division I The Citadel (South Carolina) Saturday afternoon in a match played in Marietta, Georgia.
The Grizzlies (11-0) grabbed the doubles point after sweeping all three matches. Senior
Vicente Lagos won all eight games with freshman
Guilhem Perez Le Tiec on the No. 3 court. The senior tandem of
Valentino Caratini and
Agustin Tamagnone clinched the doubles point behind an 8-2 triumph at No. 1. Senior
Daniel Czepielewski and junior
Matthias Haim rounded out the winners in doubles action with an 8-6 victory at No. 2.
GGC won all six singles matches in straight sets. Caratini captured all 12 games of his No. 3 match while Perez Le Tiec also was victorious by 6-0, 6-0 scores at No. 6 for the team's third point of the match.

Lagos completed his undefeated afternoon with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph on the No. 5 court. Sophomore
Alex Gurmendi was victorious 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 while Haim and Tamagnone closed the match with victories on the No. 1 and No. 4 courts, respectively.
GGC has won 158 consecutive dual matches and has earned victories against NCAA Division I, II, and III, and NAIA opponents this spring.
Georgia Gwinnett College is scheduled to host William Carey University (Mississippi) to begin the Grizzly Spring Invitational on Friday, March 4, at the GGC Tennis Facility.
