Nationally ranked and top-seeded Southeastern University scored three second-half goals to defeat the Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team 4-0 Thursday afternoon in a first-round match of the 2022 NAIA Lakeland (Florida) Bracket.

The Grizzlies (5-8-7), the No. 4 seed in the tournament, made its sixth straight NAIA national tournament appearance and seventh in program history.

Naira Lopez successfully converted penalty kick goals in the 48th and 57th minutes to give the Fire (14-3-2) a commanding 3-0 lead. The tournament hosts struck first in the 36th minute following an own goal.
Ariadna Lozano capped the scoring with a goal in the 62nd minute.

Arguis NAIA throwGGC attempted seven shots in the match and had four corner kicks across 90 minutes of action. Sophomore Arley Valle led the team's offensive attack with three shots.

Southeastern advances to the championship match to face No. 2 seed Westmont College (California) on Saturday, November 19.

Southeastern broke the match open by successfully converting penalty kicks in the 48th and 57th minutes to build a 3-0 lead. The Fire took a 1-0 halftime lead after an own goal following a corner kick in the 35th minute.
