Bellevue University (Nebraska) converted a free kick in the 20th minute into the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over the Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team to conclude the inaugural Continental Athletic Conference Classic on Sunday morning in a match played at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Ximena Jauregui successfully bent a shot over a wall of GGC defenders and inside the right post in the 20th minute.
The Grizzlies (3-5-6) outshot Bellevue by a 16-7 margin, with 12 shots being on goal in the match. The team also attempted five corner kicks.
In the second half, consecutive shots by sophomore
Ola Orelesi and junior
Miranda Robinson were stopped by Bellevue goalkeeper Jenn Amaro in the 61st and 62nd minutes, respectively.
Later, junior
Kyara Armenta had a shot stopped by Amaro in the 71st minute, while a header from sophomore
Ola Orelesi off a corner kick was also saved during the 80th minute.

Amaro made 12 saves to record the shutout for the Bruins (10-2-1).

Addie Adame and Armenta each tallied three shots for GGC.
