Georgia Gwinnett College national championship baseball Head Coach
Jeremy Sheetinger is reviewing America's top 15-year-old and younger players as a guest coach and instructor at USA Baseball's age group national team trials, currently taking place through Thursday, September 3, in Cary, North Carolina.
The event features the nation's top 44 players in the 15-year-old and younger age category – vying for selection to this year's USA Baseball 15U National Team.

Sheetinger is teaching base running techniques to the young players.
"Teaching elements of our game to some of the very best players in the country is an incredible opportunity," said Sheetinger, who is the first NAIA coach to be selected as a guest coach. "It is always a humbling experience to serve the USA Baseball organization in any capacity. This opportunity is on a grand scale."
GGC's 2021 national championship team featured an aggressive base-running plan that had the Grizzlies lead the NAIA with 208 stolen bases. That was part of a prolific offense that finished first in the nation in doubles, hits, runs and runs scored per game – elements leading to the program's first national title.
"Seeing the success of our (GGC) players within this base-running plan excites me to offer these fundamentals, tips and ideas to younger players. Plus, the USA Baseball coaching staff and other guest coaches are all master teachers of the game. I'm looking forward to learning from others as I'm teaching future leaders in the sport," said Sheetinger.

Other guest coaches at the 15U team trials are Scott Brown of Vanderbilt University, Travis Jewell of Tulane University, Bill Bosiello of Texas Christian University, Noberto Lopex of the University of Miami (Florida). They join the 15U National Team coaching and support staffs.
Georgia Gwinnett College captured the 2021 NAIA national championship at the Avista NAIA World Series. The team finished the season with a 51-10 record after winning 22 of its final 23 games.
