Scoring three first-half goals, the Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team won its final regular-season tune up 3-1 at USC Beaufort (South Carolina) Saturday afternoon in Beaufort, South Carolina.
The Grizzlies (7-5) concluded the regular season with seven wins in their final nine matches. Both of Saturday's opponents were receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll.
GGC's scoring came in the final stages of the first half and the team managed to outshoot USC Beaufort by a decisive 21-11 margin in the match, including 10-5 in shots on goal.
Sophomore
Victoria Watson got on the scoreboard in the 24th minute after receiving a pass from senior
Natalie Ferrin. Three minutes later, Ferrin scored on a header to give the visitors a 2-0 lead.
Later, junior
Grace Bullock tallied a goal in the 41st minute following intricate passes from junior
Addie Adame and senior
Gabby Bishop.

The Grizzlies had a chance to add another goal in the second half but missed a penalty kick.
The Sand Sharks (11-8-1) got on the scoreboard in the final minute.
Georgia Gwinnett College will be the No. 2 seed in next weekend's Association of Independent Institutions Women's Soccer Championship at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.

"This was a nice result to get heading into the postseason. We played a lot of players and each contributed to this win. We do need to finish off an opponent. We were up 3-0 and missed a penalty kick, while allowing a goal in the last minute," said Head Coach
