Joy Mertzig scored her team-leading ninth goal in the 48th minute as the No. 16-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 victory Thursday afternoon in a match against Oklahoma City University on John Brown University's field in Siloam Springs, Ark.

Natalie Ferrin before beating the Stars goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation early in the second half.
The Grizzlies (7-3-1) attempted five of their eight shots in the second half. Six different players recorded a shot in the victory. Five of those shots were on goal.
Senior goalkeeper
Sophie Hoare stopped all three shots on goal to record the team's third shutout of the season. It was GGC's first shutout since a 3-0 win against Thomas University (Ga.) on Aug. 28.
The Grizzlies will now face No. 14 John Brown on Saturday, Sept. 28, starting at noon.
