The three-time defending national champion Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis team began its quest for another title with a convincing 5-0 victory against No. 17-seeded Westmont College (Calif.) in the Round of 16 at the 2019 NAIA National Championships on Wednesday afternoon in Mobile, Ala.
The top-seeded Grizzlies (17-1) extended its winning streak in the national tournament to 13 matches.
GGC won 24 of the 26 games in doubles to grab a commanding 3-0 advantage.
Junior
Gabrielle Robinson and freshman
Tereza Koplova teamed for an 8-1 victory on the No. 3 doubles court. Then, junior
Emerald Able and sophomore
Madeline Bosnjak won all eight games at No. 1 doubles to give the team a 2-0 lead.

Seniors
Maria Prados Cid and
Henar Munoz rounded out the doubles winners with an 8-1 triumph on the No. 2 court.
In singles, a pair of 6-0, 6-0 victories were recorded by Bosnjak and Able on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts, respectively, to complete the victory.
The Grizzlies advance to play No. 9-seeded Brenau University (Ga.) in Thursday's quarterfinals, starting at 2 p.m.
