The No. 1-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College women's tennis team completed its spring break Florida trip with a convincing 9-0 victory Thursday afternoon against No. 7 Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.).
GGC (5-0) has swept all of its matches this spring.
The No. 1 doubles team of junior
Emerald Able and sophomore
Madeline Bosnjak won all eight games to give the Grizzlies a strong start. Senior
Maria Prados Cid and freshman
Tereza Koplova picked up an 8-3 victory on the No. 2 doubles court. Then, senior
Henar Munoz and junior
Chiara Rebecchi gave GGC a 3-0 lead with an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Grizzlies also were victorious on all six singles courts, in straight-set scores. Bosnjak won by identical 6-2 scores on the No. 1 court. Able clinched the team victory with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph at No. 2 singles.
Also in singles, junior
Gabrielle Robinson was a 6-2, 6-2 victor in the No. 5 match, while Munoz and Prados Cid recorded wins on the No. 3 and No. 4 courts, respectively. Koplova rounded out the team's winners with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph at No. 6.
