The defending NAIA national champion Georgia Gwinnett College's women's tennis team opened the 2019 season with an impressive 9-0 victory against No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) on Tuesday at the GGC Tennis Facility.
The Grizzlies, ranked No. 1 in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, have won the last three national championships and captured four titles in the past five seasons.
Senior
Maria Prados Cid and freshman
Tereza Koplova won eight of 12 games in winning at the top of the doubles lineup. The doubles team of senior
Henar Munoz and sophomore
Madeline Bosnjak picked up an 8-1 victory on the No. 2 court.

Junior
Debora Scurt registered a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles to grab the team's decisive fifth point of the match. Koplova won all 12 games on the No. 4 court in her first collegiate singles match.
Bosnjak, the top-ranked singles player in the NAIA, earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory on the No. 1 court. She captured the NAIA singles national title during the fall individual season.
Munoz was victorious 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles while Prados Cid followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win on the No. 3 court.
