Sophomore
Toni Tiente and freshman
Gianmaria Fiore each found the back of the net for the first time in 2018 as the No. 8-ranked Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer team battled No. 25 University of Northwestern Ohio to a 2-2 draw Friday afternoon.
All four goals in the match were scored in the first half.
The Grizzlies (1-0-1) bounced back from two deficits in the early 45 minutes. The Racers got out to an early lead on a goal from Nick Doutch in the fifth minute. The visitors responded on the first collegiate goal from Fiore in the 17th minute, off a free kick from junior
Sagi Hirsch.
Northwestern Ohio (0-0-1) would regain the lead, 2-1, when Shea Mannings scored in the 37th minute.
Similar to its first goal, GGC squared the match on a free kick goal from Tiente with four minutes remaining in the first half.

Tiente nearly gave the Grizzlies the victory in the second overtime period when a free kick shot struck the crossbar and then was cleared away from the goal area by a UNOH defender.
GGC closes out play in Ohio on Sunday, Aug. 26, when it plays No. 10 Baker University (Kan.), starting at 11 a.m.
Coaches' Corner
"It was a wild first half. I thought we started a bit slow. I'm proud of how the guys bounced back twice. We made a tactical adjustment in the second half and become more dangerous in the second half. We were unlucky not to have won the match (in second overtime). Toni hit the crossbar in overtime. It should have went into the goal. Overall, it was a great learning experience as we got challenged by a good opponent. Our play in this match will help us going forward," said Head Coach
Steve DeCou.
