Box Score

The top-seeded Georgia Gwinnett College baseball team scored nine runs after the sixth inning to defeat No. 5-seeded Point University (Ga.) 10-0 Monday night on the first day of the 2018 NAIA Baseball Lawrenceville Bracket Opening Round at the Grizzly Baseball Complex.

The victory moves the Grizzlies (46-10) into winner's bracket action against No. 3-seeded Keiser University (Fla.) on Tuesday, May 15, at 3 p.m.

Junior Alex Garland hit a run-scoring single to cap the five-run inning.

Georgia Gwinnett College added four runs in the eighth inning with junior C.J. Ballard connecting on a two-run single. The outfielder went 4-for-4, with two runs scored, to lead the team's 10-hit offensive attack.

Point (35-24) had defeated No. 4-seeded Indiana Wesleyan 10-7 earlier in the day.
