Box Score The Georgia Gwinnett College baseball team fell for the first time this spring, dropping an 11-6 game at No. 25 Webber International University Sunday afternoon. The No. 12 Grizzlies won the first two games of the series to capture their second-straight weekend series to begin the season.
A two-run single by senior Kade Carrigan in the second inning got the visitors the early 2-0 lead. But, the Warriors answered with three runs in the third inning and had a pivotal four-run fifth inning to take control of the contest.
Junior C.J. Ballard connected on a two-run home run in the seventh inning to trim the deficit to 10-5. It was the outfielder's team-leading second homer this season.
GGC collected 10 hits during Sunday's finale, led by junior Alex Garland with two hits.
Georgia Gwinnett College won the first two games of the series by 9-6 and 10-7 scores.

No. 25 Webber International broke the game open with a four-run fifth inning. The big scoring frame gave the hosts a commanding 7-2 lead. GGC could only get as close as four runs during the rest of the way.
