The Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team took a major step toward defending its Association of Independent Institutions tournament championship with a commanding a 6-0 victory against Washington Adventist University (Md.) in Friday's first semifinal round match at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.
The Grizzlies (15-3) have now set a new single-season school record for victories. They will now play in the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m.
Senior
Nicole Rodriguez scored two goals to lead the team's offensive attack. The first goal came in the seventh minute, with the second being put into the goal in the 54th minute.
GGC took a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute when senior
Macarena Errazuriz drilled a shot from 25 yards out into the upper right corner of the goal.

Victoria Bischof in scoring goals in the match.
The Grizzlies outshot the Shock (9-10) by an 18-to-0 margin, including having 13 shots on goal.
Turning Point
The Grizzlies got an insurance goal on a long distance strike from senior
Macarena Errazuriz midway through the first half. The shot from the middle of the pitch went into the upper right corner of the goal.
