Women's Soccer Posts First Win of Season

The Georgia Gwinnett College women's soccer team's offense broke out in a big way Monday evening, scoring three goals in a 3-0 road victory against Dalton State College. The Grizzlies posted their first victory of the 2017 season.

GGC scored twice in the first six minutes of the contest to seize control. Senior forward Dominique Fletcher found the back of the net in the fourth minute for her first goal this fall. The goal marked the first time the team had a lead in a match this season.

Two minutes later junior defender Stina Andersson scored her second collegiate goal to extend the lead to 2-0. Then, junior forward Melissa Hanken gave the visitors a 3-0 advantage with her first goal of the season just before the first half concluded.

The Grizzlies recorded their first shutout of the season.

Turning Point

The Grizzlies took their first lead of the 2017 season with Dominique Fletcher's early goal. GGC entered Monday's match with one goal scored, but found the back of the net twice in the first six minutes of the contest.
