Box Score Scoring two goals in the final 64 seconds, Bluefield College rallied to give the No. 8 Georgia Gwinnett College men's soccer team its first loss of the season, 2-1 Sunday afternoon. It was the second of back-to-back road matches this weekend and the sixth road contest in the team's eight matches for this fall.
The Grizzlies (6-1-1) got on the scoreboard in the 64th minute on a goal from senior Samuel Sampaio Gomes. Senior Jack Gurr sent a ball over to Sampaio Gomes, who pushed it past the Bluefield goalkeeper for the lead.
Bluefield, who is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 poll, squared the match with 1:04 left in regulation time. Then, the Rams scored the game-winner just before the final buzzer sounded on a goal by Joao Delgado.
Georgia Gwinnett College held a commanding 19-6 edge in shots during the match and registered nine shots on goal.
