The fifth-ranked Georgia Gwinnett baseball team scored a Friday sweep of LSU Alexandria with 10-6 and 9-3 victories in Alexandria, La.

The Grizzlies improved to 39-6 overall as the Generals (receiving national Top 25 votes) dropped to 27-17. The two teams have played five games against each other over the last eight days and will wrap up the series on Saturday afternoon. GGC has won four of the first five.

The two squads rank first (GGC) and second (LSUA) in the Association of Independent Institutions rankings.

GGC is now 12-1 on the road this year and has won 13 of 15 games overall since having a 20-game winning streak snapped last month.

Game two starter Alex Roberts moved to 6-1 on the year for GGC while Ryan Turner (2-0) notched the game one win in relief.

Following Saturday’s series finale, the Grizzlies remain on the road, visiting No. 3 Faulkner to resume a season series with two games in Montgomery, Ala., Tuesday and Wednesday.
