HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - Juan Giraldo couldn't have picked a better time to notch his first goal of the season as the junior out Dacula netted the equalizer in the 84th minute to help the Georgia Gwinnett men's soccer team to a 1-1 draw at SCAD Savannah on Saturday night.

The draw extended 11th-ranked GGC's unbeaten streak out to three matches as the team moved to 8-2-2 on the year. SCAD, which entered the match with the 26th-most votes in the NAIA Coaches Top 25 poll, saw its eight-match winning streak halted and now holds a 9-2-3 mark.

"I would've liked to have picked up the win tonight, but a draw with a team that I think will be in the Top 25 next week is a good result for us," GGC Head Coach Steve DeCou said. "I think we really came to life after their goal, and I love the kind of resiliency we showed tonight. This also keeps us in good position for an at-large bid to the NAIA Tournament."

Giraldo's equalizer was the fourth goal of his career and the first conceded by the Bees since October 10. The junior was being utilized as a right back on Saturday night, but he found himself in the right place at the right time as he pushed forward from the back line to head home a Martin Lugo cross.

SCAD opened the scoring with a 15th-minute tally from Alex Jamroz, but Lewis Sharpe continued his strong season in goal, picking up five saves to limit the damage.

The Green and Gray will return to action next weekend with the last regular season road trip of the season, setting out for Elizabethton, Tenn., to take on Milligan.
