Georgia Gwinnett stands at 28-25 and will return home Friday to begin the final series of its inaugural year.

Game One- GGC 14, Young Harris 2

The Grizzlies used a seven-run third inning and three hits apiece from Van Camp, Sloan Strickland and Jereid Woods to cruise to the opening win.

Freshman Sheldon Connor (7-1) held the Mountain Lions in check by striking out four in a complete-game victory.

Van Camp and Strickland combined to go 6-for-9 with six runs scored and five RBIs. Long and Phillip Bates each had two hits as all nine GGC starters scored or drove in at least one run.

After YHC cut the lead to 8-2 in the fifth inning, the Grizzlies pushed away with two runs in the sixth and four in the seventh.

Long's solo home run in the second was his second of the year while Van Camp's three-run shot in the seventh was his third.

Game Two- Young Harris 5, GGC 0

The Grizzly bats went cold in game two, managing five hits but no runs as Beck struck out six in pitching the complete game.

Three GGC defensive errors led to three unearned runs. The Mountain Lions scored twice in the first and added two more runs in the second.

Van Camp and Woods each doubled in the losing effort.

The defeat was just the third shutout loss of the season for a GGC squad that averages 6.7 runs per game.

The Grizzlies return to Lawrenceville for their final two games of the year against Loyola University New Orleans. Game one is set for Friday at 7 p.m. while the season finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
