Sloan Strickland and Justin White each had two hits but three defensive errors were costly Thursday evening in a 5-1 loss for the Georgia Gwinnett baseball team at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs.

Grizzlies starter Sheldon Connor allowed just one earned run over seven innings as the Lions scored four times in the third inning with the help of GGC miscues.

The Grizzlies (21-10) have dropped back-to-back games for the first time since March 1-2. EC improved to 17-14.

Robbie Payne accounted for the Grizzlies’ lone score in the fourth inning with a solo home run but Emmanuel added one score in the seventh for the game’s final run.

The Grizzlies and Lions continue their series with a 1 p.m. doubleheader in Lawrenceville Friday.
