Returning All-American to Anchor Men’s Soccer Offensive Production This Season

One of last season’s goals for the Georgia Gwinnett College men’s soccer team was increasing its offensive production.

That goal was achieved by a nine-goal margin in a large part due to the standout play of freshman NAIA All-American Ousmane Fall.

The forward paced the Grizzlies a year ago with 15 goals and 34 points, statistics that led to him collecting the Continental Athletic Conference Newcomer and Player of the Year honors.

GGCAthletics.com wraps up its preseason position preview series by highlighting the goal-scoring options for a team that’s striving to improve upon a 13-win 2025 season that included a conference championship and matched the program’s best postseason run, with a quarterfinal berth in the NAIA national tournament.

Fall saved his best performances for the big moments, netting a goal against nationally ranked Lindsey Wilson University (Kentucky) and the University of the Cumberlands (Kentucky). The forward scored a hat trick in a home triumph against Talladega College (Alabama), part of a five-match stretch in which he had nine goals.

Complimenting Fall with offensive firepower inside the opposing 18-yard box will be juniors Djordje Djurasinovic and Pedro Nunes. 

Djurasinovic has played an attacking role in the midfield throughout his two-year career but moves up to the forward position this fall. He stood third on last year’s team with eight goals.

Also making the transition to the forward position is Nunes, who assisted on five goals a year ago while spending a majority of his first season in Lawrenceville at midfield. He found the back of the net in the opening minutes of a home victory against Florida National University.

DeCou knows that Fall will be a marked player on the pitch by opposing defenses this fall.

“Ousmane is going to be the opposition’s focal point, with all of his accolades from last year,” stated DeCou. “Pedro led the team in scoring in five spring preseason matches and Djordje will be given an opportunity to contribute to our attack from the top of the formation, based on last season’s production.”

Other offensive weapons will be senior Joshua Orue, who has nine career goals and has appeared in 38 matches over the past three seasons, and freshman Amanuel Retif, who could be another pleasant first-year surprise for the team, like Fall was last year.

Georgia Gwinnett College kicks off the new season at SCAD Savannah (Georgia) on Friday, August 21. The home opener is set for Monday, August 31, against Southeastern University (Florida) at the Grizzly Soccer Complex, starting at 1 p.m.
