Talented Forwards Ready to Score Goals for Women’s Soccer this Fall

The Georgia Gwinnett College women’s soccer team will feature fresh faces throughout its lineup, with five newcomers bolstering the offensive attack from the forward positions during the upcoming fall season.

“In all my years of coaching, I have never entered a season having more newcomers than returning players. While we are excited about them, you just don’t know until they are here and you see them in practice,” said Head Coach Dr. Mike Giuliano.

With preseason practice well underway, GGCAthletics.com begins the Grizzlies’ preseason position preview series by examining those players who will be scoring goals for the 2025 team.

GGC scored 64 goals and tallied five or more goals on five occasions last season as the squad posted 12 victories, captured the Continental Athletic Conference title, reached the second round of the NAIA national tournament, and was ranked No. 23 in the season’s final poll.

This year’s squad could have one of the most talented forward units in the program’s 14-year history, with a potent goal scorer returning and several promising newcomers on the roster.

Senior Natalie Maguire scored a team-high 10 goals and provided six assists in 2024, her first season representing the Green and Gray. She had a hat trick in a home win against Rocky Mountain College (Montana) during the August portion of last season’s schedule.

Fellow senior Samara Dullabh started 10 of the 12 matches she appeared in last fall before late-season injuries limited her availability. She scored three goals and assisted on three other goals while five of her eight shots were on goal last season.

Natalie was one of our leading goal scorers and Samara battled through some injuries last year. We are hoping that she is back to 100 percent. Those are two really strong returning forwards for us,

Junior Lore Van Onsem has appeared in 23 matches over the past two seasons, highlighted by 19 appearances during the 2023 campaign. That fall she scored one goal, provided an assist and was in the starting lineup for the team’s NAIA national tournament match.

Meanwhile, Giuliano is excited about the newcomers that will provide depth for the Grizzlies in front of the opposition’s goal.

Freshmen Camila Madriz Figueroa and Barbora Kadlecova have national team playing experience for Venezuela and Czech Republic, respectively. Kadlecova started matches in Under-23 age group matches against Sweden, Switzerland and France. Classmate Alliyah Rosales arrived in Lawrenceville after a productive high school career in Georgia.

Sophomore Gabby Stone brings junior college experience from LSU Eunice and freshman Jazzy Nears is another talented newcomer to the forward unit.

“Though a vast majority of our new players are transfers, we know what they did at their previous schools,” said Giuliano in an interview before the start of preseason practice and exhibition matches. “Allyiah is one of the most gifted one-on-one players I’ve ever recruited. Gabby is a big strong player who was the leading goal scorer at her junior college.”

Georgia Gwinnett College is scheduled to open the 2025 season with a road match against Montreat College (North Carolina) on August 23. The team’s home opener follows against in-state foe Truett-McConnell University (Georgia) on August 26 at the Grizzly Soccer Complex.
